Joan Belgrave’s Marcus Belgrave 90th Birthday Celebration

On the day of Juneteenth. 2026, Joan Belgrave & special guests will celebrate black music as it relates to life throughout the years, including the incredible contributions of a man who has been called the “Yoda of Detroit Jazz” , Marcus Belgrave, celebrating his 90th Birthday..Mrs. Belgrave traveled the world with her late husband, making music & mentoring young musicians across the globe. Together, they created a musical exchange program for young Detroit jazz students to perform in Barbados, and then brought young Barbados students to Detroit in 2013 to share music & culture. The Belgrave legacy of giving and sharing music with the world is one that continues to be passed down. On this day, you will hear music and stories from those that were touched and changed, including trumpeter virtuoso, Lin Roundtree. Come celebrate with us. Our Music, Our World
