Let’s Get Lost: The Long Night of Chet Baker
The Blue LLama Jazz Club and the Michigan Theater are joining forces to bring a unique multimedia musical journey to Ann Arbor.
Join Blue LLama Proprietor Don Hicks, Artistic Director Dave Sharp, and some of Michigan’s top regional musical stars to follow the music trajectory and tragedy of Chet Baker. On November 4, through live music and stories, we’ll follow Chet Baker’s meteoric rise as jazz’s first “pop star”. We’ll jam out to Chet’s iconic hits, many that you’ll instantly recognize.
Later, we’ll follow Chet’s long descent through addiction, pain, mariachi music, and loss, and ultimately dwell on his surprisingly soulful final years.
On November 8, you can continue the journey with the showing of the award winning documentary
Let’s Get Lost at the Michigan Theater. Bruce Weber’s stunningly beautifully first hand account of Chet’s final days. Learn about Chet’s life and music at the Blue LLama, and immerse yourself in the cinematic experience of an extraordinary and ultimately tragic life at the Michigan Theater.
Seats are highly limited, you won’t want to miss this show! All profits and proceeds will benefit the Michigan Theater’s non-profit organization.
