Ellen Rowe Quartet featuring Andrew Bishop

The Ellen Rowe/Andrew Bishop Quartet have been fixtures on the Detroit/Ann Arbor music scene for over 15 years, with concerts at the Blue LLama Jazz Club, Cliff Bells, Kerrytown Concert House, University of Michigan. They have also performed at the Jazz Education Network Conference and the Detroit Jazz Festival. Their last quartet album, “Courage Music”, which also featured trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, received widespread air play and critical acclaim. Ken Franckling, reviewing for Jazz Times.com, stated “This is a gem in every respect, revealing much to savor on every track.” Joining Andrew and Ellen are Rob Bickley on bass and Jonathan Barhal Taylor on drums, both of whose resumes include numerous performances in Ann Arbor, Detroit and New York City. Rob has performed at such venues as The Blue Note, Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, Small Jazz Club and Alice Tully Hall while Jonathan Taylor has has performed at the DC Jazz Festival, EdgeFest, The Jazz Gallery In New York, the Detroit Jazz Festival and The Toronto Jazz Festival.
