Elvin Sharp Quartet

Formed in 2022, the Elvin Sharp quartet has been powerhouse group throughout south east Michigan. While the members have changed over the years, the groove and melodicism has not. The group features Elvin Sharp on the saxophones, Zach Sommerfeld on  Guitar, Sam Melkonian on Drums and Sam Corey on Bass. All the members are current proud students of Rodney Whitaker from MSU’s jazz program. The group strikes a perfect balance between underappreciated pieces by the master and jazz standards everyone will know and love.
