Nick Collins grew up in Washington, D.C. and Ann Arbor, MI, where he attended Ann Arbor’s Community High School. Nick completed a BFA in performance at New School University in New York City, where he lived and played for 6 years. After returning to Ann Arbor in 2004, Nick continues to play around the Detroit area. Nick performs regularly around the Detroit area with musicians such as Tim Haldeman, Justin Walter, Daniel Bennett, Tim Flood, Andrew Bishop, Jeff Pedraz, Randy Napoleon, Vincent Chandler, Rick Roe, Jimmy Smith, James Hughes, and Corey Kendrick. Nick has played at jazz venues such as Smalls (NYC), Cliff Bell’s (Detroit), The Blue LLama, and the late Firefly and Bird of Paradise (Ann Arbor) clubs.
