A powerful and innovative saxophonist, Alex Harding has a unique and contemporary baritone sound, which Jazz Times has likened to “sheer fireworks.” The Detroit native has performed with Hamiet Bluiett, the Mingus Big Band, Lester Bowie’s Hip-Hop Philharmonic, the Sun Ra Arkestra and All-Star Project, Aretha Franklin, and the Roy Hargrove Big Band, among others. Hammond Beat calls Jim Alfredson “One of the faces of the new millennium’s Jazz renaissance.” Known to Block audiences from his memorable 2018 appearance with Organissimo, Alfredson is a Hammond-Suzuki endorsed artist and plays the Hammond XK-3, a digital recreation of the legendary B3 tone wheel organ.
