Jackson Hacias and Sam Gucwa began collaborating while performing under award-winning trombonist Michael Dease. Hacias, raised in the Cincinnati jazz tradition, plays with commanding presence and a sensitive ear. Gucwa developed her energetic melodies in the Denver underground scene. In this quintet, the two play with a style that fuses the pocket of hard bop with the intensity of rock.
