ABOUT ROWAN TUCKER-MYER TRIO:

Pianist Rowan Tucker-Meyer is one of the most in demand young musicians in Ann Arbor. Though his style is rooted in the hard-swinging jazz piano tradition, Rowan can be found in a wide variety of musical settings, from free jazz to the energetic R&B of bands such as The Ruckus and Vup. Rowan has performed at venues such as the Detroit Jazz Festival, Michigan Jazz Festival, Ann Arbor Summer Festival, the North Star Lounge, Ziggy’s, the Blind Pig, the Blue LLama, and Dizzy’s Club. He is a junior at the University of Michigan, where he has studied with musicians such as Andy Milne and Roger Jones. This trio, where Rowan is joined by the incomparable Jack Nissen and Philip Buchman, draws inspiration from the Bill Evans-Eddie Gomez-Marty Morell trio, whose work they will be paying tribute to on a forthcoming EP.
