The Nate Topo Quartet, led by saxophonist Nate Topolewski, is an up-and-coming jazz and funk ensemble. The group prides themselves in not only their original music, but in their renditions of Jazz standards as well. The band focuses not only to protect the tradition of their music, but to excite listeners who vitalize that said tradition. The group's mission is simple: we serve the music for music's sake.
At only 18 years old, Nate Topolewski has established himself as a well-known artist in the Detroit music scene. He’s jammed with big names like Martha Reeves and The Ralphe Armstrong Trio. Ralphe once said of Nate, “He sounds like Joe Henderson on the doggone tenor saxophone.” And James Carter gave Nate the nickname, “Mr. True-Tone”. Nate has also brought his own band, The 313 Group, to Arts Beats and Eats, Meadow Brook Hall, and held a year-long residency at Bert's Motown Bistro.
There is a $10 cover at the door and reservations are not required for this show.
