Bassist, composer and bandleader Dave Sharp leads an Octet featuring the music of Charle Mingus to celebrate the 101st birthday of this jazz luminary. The Dave Sharp Octet: Above the Underdog Project features Sharp on Upright Bass, Sean Dobbins on Drums, Rick Roe on piano, Tim Haldeman on Tenor Saxophone, Vincent Chandler on Trombone, Alex Harding on Baritone Saxophone, Dan Bennett on Alto Saxophone and Allen Dennard on Trumpet.
